Portrait photography
Most people like to have pictures around the house, in my case it tends to be of someone else...
Until fairly recently most of us could only hope for what the well known franchised 'photography' shops would do for us. Not that there was anything wrong with what was available, but there was a lack of choice, a lack of personal input. They were mass produced to a well established formula, which worked, but was un-inspiring. Times have changed and the digital darkroom is now more flexible than ever. With more and more photographers constantly pushing the boundaries of what 'normal' portraits are, people have become more informed about both what is possible and what they would like.
As a photographer I like to capture your personality in a portrait but I like the picture to have impact, to grab peoples' attention. I also prefer to use locations or studio set-ups which reflect the personality of the subject.
What you can expect
You'll get a consultation either by telephone, email or face to face - which ever suits you best. This is so that I can get a feel for what you would like or so that you can tell me your ideas. After this I'll go away and find locations or examples to suit what you want while we arrange a convenient time for your shoot.
- A friendly, patient, light hearted approach.
- Willingness to try out your ideas.
- Flexibility - if it doesn't feel right to you, we'll change what we're doing.
- Fully working, good quality equipment - Obviously...

Depending on the style and duration of your shoot you will have a gallery of between 12 and 30 high quality, professionally edited images (much more if you have an especially long session) to chose from within 10/14 days of your shoot. Once you have made your selection they will be professionally printed and sent to you.
